The Taste of Togher Festival

The Glyde Inn situated in the small fishing village of Annagassan, County Louth will host its seventh annual Taste of Togher Food Festival (www.tasteoftogher.com) on Saturday 21st of September from 12pm-5pm. Admission is free and there is a wide range of local products and produce to try, from cheese and honey to jam, organic garlic, cupcakes and more. Locally produced drinks to sample include cider, beer and gin!

We are very excited to have The Crafty Rock showcasing a wide rage of local crafts and this year.

The Vikings are back as The Ardglass Viking Group will have a Viking Ship on display. Kids will be able to go aboard and discover what it was like to sail in Viking times !! The Ardglass Vikings along with their Viking ships have taking part in the TV show 'The Vikings', one such boat will be on display at The Taste of Togher.  The group was started in 1996 with a challenge from the Isle of Man to row across the Irish sea. They lost the challenge but started up our rowing club and voluntary Viking group as a means to fundraise for worthy causes.  

On the Flo Gas Main stage in The Glyde Inn a variety of Cookery demonstrations will include Tara Walker from East Coast Cookery School who is going to do a Viking Themed food demo.

In Keeping with the theme, local historian Micheál Mc Keown will give a viking walking tour of the Viking site in Annagassan. Micheál is a graduate of NUI. Maynooth (extra-mural cert. in local history) His speciality is the Viking and Anglo_Norman period. He is also a noted artist and sculptor best known for his iconic "Bull of Cooley" on the N1 motorway.  Tickets for this walk are available at https://theglydeinn.ie/events/
